The Path or the Storm: Choosing Stillness in a World of Noise

We are living in a time where the truth is hard to hold.

One side sells us comfort, safety, and control.

The other warns of systems collapsing, freedoms stolen, and hidden agendas.

But both sides shout.

Both spin stories are laced with fear.

And both, if we’re not careful, can pull us into a kind of sleep.

One where we obey without question…

The other where we doubt everything and trust no one.

This, too, is a form of control.

I have watched friends disappear into each extreme, trusting the machine,

or fighting shadows until they lose their centre.

So I step back. I breathe.

I remember: The world is full of noise.

But the truth is quiet.

Not everything loud is wise.

Not everything hidden is false.

In these times, I choose neither hysteria nor numbness.

I choose awareness without panic.

Stillness without apathy.

I watch the storms, yes.

I listen. I learn.

But I do not give them my soul.

I stay awake, not paranoid.

Grounded, not blind.

I stay on the path.

The one that rises from the deepest part of me.

The one that doesn’t need permission or approval.

The one that leads, always, back to love, clarity, and truth.

Until next time, Michel

About Michel Perrin

Photographer. Fine Artist. Seeker of Light.

Michel Perrin is an award-winning photographer and fine art visual storyteller based in New Zealand. With nearly three decades of experience behind the lens, Michel’s work weaves the quiet poetry of light, form, and feeling into every image he creates. Whether capturing the soft elegance of a portrait, the architectural rhythm of a structure, or the sacred stillness of a landscape, Michel brings a unique sensitivity to the unseen beauty that lives within the world around us.

His photography has been exhibited internationally and is held in private collections across the globe. Rooted in a deep reverence for truth, emotion, and visual harmony, Michel’s approach goes beyond technique — it is an invitation to pause, reflect, and feel.

Over the years, he has developed a signature aesthetic that is both timeless and soulful — a blend of classical precision and intuitive vision that speaks to the heart as much as the eye.

Michel’s work continues to evolve alongside his inner journey, with new expressions emerging through spiritual symbolism, poetic storytelling, and visionary design. Through his camera, he doesn’t just document moments — he reveals portals.
